Retro

06Dec09

I’m not much of a photo buff, but i think this photo looks pretty sweet. Kinda channels a summer-roadtrip feeling for me. Photo credit doesn’t go to me. See more where this came from – http://photobucket.com/images/holga/

Day four

06Dec09

bakkutteh

first coffee in 4 days. epic.

doggie training begins.

It’s been a little wierd being back here. I think I got so used to the pace of Melbourne and the way I was living that coming back has been a small shock to the system. And so I’m unveiling a new project. Something to help me get to the end of my holidays without feeling like I haven’t done much, as well as an attempt by me to keep connected to everyone else. :)

Here’s what it is:

Over the next 81 days, I’m going to attempt to journal my summer holiday in the form of photos – uploading at least one photo a day at the end of each day.

This should be interesting…

Here are a couple of photos to catch us up to today.

Day zero :)

Day one – 9 hour transit in SG. Those four cupboards comprise my brother’s personal collection of board games. REALLY.

Day three – claypot chicken & spare ribs rice. YUMS.

Day 3 – Creepy mannequin head + scissors = stylist in training ;)

Day four coming soon.

The question’s always been, “so where do you consider home?” Tuth is, the answer gets fuzzier as the years go past.

We arrived back in Brunei just over an hour and a bit ago. Tracy’s allergies are already starting to surface, while I’m just feeling drained from 20hours of travelling and a slight jetlag. The 9hour transit in singapore went by quicker than I thought it would and got a little carried away with shopping we almost missed our flight. Here in Brunei, the weather’s warmer, more humid and the mosquitos have started biting. But on the upside, we have air conditioning :) Althought, I’ve got a bruise and a bump on my left foot from where i dropped my 19kg bag while trying to get it out of the car. Whoopsies. We’ve got the home to ourselves for a couple of days while the parents are away, but the unpacking begins tonight and work begins tomorrow. Now all that’s left to do is take a shower, have a home cooked meal and unwind.

- The Last Day On Earth

They’ve been playing this on the radio non-stop…

A coffee a day

27Jun09

Coffee makes my day brighter. Haha.

Studying for exams really isn’t any fun at the moment. I’ve had a couple of exams but I’m not done yet. My momentum’s pretty much dried up and after studying non-stop for the last four weeks, I’m finding it really hard to push myself through the last three days.

It doesn’t help that everyone else I know, apart from two people doing the exact same subject, are done with exams. It’s kind of like a rewind button, where you do everything in the same order, day after day. – wake up, have a coffee, surf the net, study, more coffee. Rewind and repeat for 30 days.

But you know what, this semester has been so much better. I’ve learnt how to manage studying a little better, making sure I schedule in some relax time as well. And I’m pretty sure the studying will pay off, but we’ll wait till results are out to confirm that.

Almost at the end – tuesday’s almost here.
